Nine alleged militants were killed in what police described as “gunfight” during a special operation of the joint forces in Dhaka’s Kalyanpur area early this morning. - 1 militant held, says he belongs to IS - JMB militants, says Bangladesh police chief - Militants bear similarity to Gulshan cafe attackers - Hundreds of rounds of ammo fired during 1hr operation SWAT, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), detectives and Dhaka police jointly carried out the one-hour operation “Storm 26” from 5:51am in continuation of last night’s raid. “We neutralised nine militants in the operation,” Sheikh Maruf Hassan, additional commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told the media after completion of the operation.
